Several of the addresses in Tahiti are given in PK, which means "poste kilometre." The kilometer markers around the island are red-capped white painted stones found on the mountain side of the road. The distance from Papeete to Taravao, following the east coast, is 54 kms, and 60 kms along the west coast.
