Rangiroa is far from being a commercial mecca, a fact that's reflected in the island's modest shopping choices. Fortunately, the lack of competition here works to the advantage of travelers. For instance, black pearls can be found on Rangiroa for substantially less than on neighboring islands.

Rangiroa is also a good place to purchase novelty items such as handicrafts, T-shirts, curios and pareos.
