The indigenous folk art of Oaxaca has found its place in galleries, museums and gift shops around the world. From unique black and green pottery, to whimsical carved wooden animals, to boldly colored wooden rugs, there's always something to catch your eye.
In the city, the Benito Juárez market and Fonart contain the two largest collections of handicrafts from the state, including jewelry, ceramics and textiles. The village of San Bartolo Coyotepec is famous for its black pottery.
