While the Scuba diving and snorkeling are probably the most popular activities in Cozumel, they are far from being the only things to do! Get ready for a world of fun and adventure on this exciting tropical island.
Diving & Snorkeling
Mere words cannot describe the snorkeling and scuba diving in Cozumel. This island is home to the world's second-largest coral reef and is surrounded by some 30 dive sites, including sunken Spanish galleons.
The abundance of reefs and clear warm waters of the Caribbean have made Cozumel a major diving destination, drawing visitors from around the globe. The famous under water explorer Jacques Cousteau declared Cozumel to be one of the world's best diving sites. The fascinating under water world can also be experienced without getting wet by taking an underwater tour of the reefs, or opt for a glass bottom boat excursion. Another great activity is taking one of the many organized boat trips for a fun filled day that includes snorkeling.
Golf
The newest activity to come to the island of Cozumel is golf! The Nicklaus Group Design have created and constructed the Cozumel Country Club to take advantage of the Island's beautiful lush surroundings. The result is a challenging 18 hole, 72 par, world-class championship golf course surrounded by native trees, red mangroves and natural wet lands. Located only 10 minutes from the airport, and 15 minutes from town, the course offers all golfers, from beginners to Pros, a spectacular round of golf.
Beaches
Spend a day exploring the island and its fascinating beaches. Go from soft white sand to rugged rocky formations until you find that special spot, then relax and enjoy! Some great options include the popular beach club,
Playa Sol, the beautiful natural beach at Punta San Clement or the amazing natural aquarium teeming with tropical fish at
Chankanaab Lagoon National Park.
Fishing
Spend a great day or half day fishing the beautiful seas. Fishing trips usually include the captain, lunch and beverages and all the tackle you will need to land the big one. Test your strength against the legendary marlin!
Sailing
From party cruises to romantic dinner cruises, Cozumel offers many fantastic ways to get your sea legs. Popular excursions often head for remote snorkeling spots or picnicking on deserted beaches only accessible by water.
Horseback Riding
Spend an unforgettable day exploring the island like a conquistador atop a responsive friendly steed. You can go horseback riding along the dirt roads or right on the beach. Trails can lead you from beautiful oceanfront vistas into the mysterious jungles of Cozumel's interior.
