Even though Hawaii's Big Island covers a lot of territory, getting around is fairly easy - with just a few major highways, and most points of interest and adventure quite well-marked. Want to find that special world-class beach? You'll usually see one or more signs to help you get there.
For those who would rather let someone else do the driving, you'll find guided tours of every size, from bus tours to friendly taxi drivers, to scheduled shuttles, to private limos. To spice up your touring, rent a jeep or other four-wheel drive vehicles. It's a fun way to explore the more remote areas of the Island, and tackle the 13,796-foot summit of Mauna Kea, which you'll want to be sure to do.
However you get around, you'll keep finding friendly people who will help you get where you're going - it's the spirit of Aloha in action.
