Amber is one of the most important purchases that you could ever do in the Island, as well as the Larimar, a semi precious stone of a light blue color. It is also recommended not to leave the country without a rocking chair conveniently packed for your flight back. 

For those who love art, you can find many mahogany sculpture for a very convenient price. 

The main malls or shopping centers are located in Santo Domingo such as: Diamond Mall, Plaza Central, Plaza Naco, Plaza Andalucía, Plaza Cataluña, Plaza La Lira where you can find all kinds of goods from all over the world including fashion clothes from the international brands such as Versace, Faconnable, Nautica, Bennetton, Guess, Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne, Jacadi. 

Other plazas can be found in Punta Cana: Plaza Bavaro, in Puerto Plata the big shopping center of the Playa Dorada Complex.
